Quenching is a common heat treatment process. It is the metal heat treatment process in which the B900FD steel material metal workpiece is heated to a proper temperature and kept for a period of time, then immersed in the quenching medium for rapid cooling. Quenching can improve the strength and hardness of steel in a large range, and adjust the coordination between B900FD steel material strength and hardness, plasticity and toughness. Quenching is generally used as the final heat treatment.
We have built solid cooperation with Myanmar Navy since 2015, starting from a try order about 412 tons LR AH36 shipbuilding steel plates. Myanmar navy builds frigate every year and book shipbuilding steel materials from us regularly. This time, the Myanmar navy’s local representative visit us and put another order about 2025 tons LR grade A steel plates. According to clients requirements, we arranged B900FD steel material SGS inspection for the LR grade A steel plates before shipping and send them inspection report.
The proportion of main elements in Q345 steel is basically the same as that in 16Mn steel, the difference is that V, Ti, Nb microalloy elements are added. A small amount of V, Ti, Nb alloy elements can refine the grains, greatly improve the toughness of the steel, and greatly improve the comprehensive mechanical properties of the steel. Because of this, the thickness of B900FD steel material, Q345 steel plate can be made larger. Therefore, the comprehensive mechanical properties of Q345 steel should be better than that of 16Mn steel, especially its low temperature properties. The allowable stress of Q345 steel is slightly higher than that of 16Mn steel.
