Abrasion resistant steel BP600 steel plate material which is also known as (AR steel) wear resistant steel, is developed to have longer service life than mild steel. Abrasion resistant steel is widely used in underground mines, cement industry, road construction, mining and open-pit mining and metallurgical industries and manufacturing other wear-resistant parts.
Compared with BP600 steel plate material, pressure vessel and boiler steel plates have such advantages: The pressure vessel and boiler steel should be pure, and the fracture structure of the boiler steel plate should be uniform without cracks and inclusions. Besides, the strain aging sensitivity is small, and the strain aging impact value of the pressure vessel and boiler steel plate is required to be no less than 50% of the non-aging impact value. That is why pressure vessel and boiler steel plate is first choice for fabricating pressure vessels and boilers, while BP600 steel plate material is not.
Forging method is to use forging hammer, precision forging machine, fast forging machine or hydraulic press to forge ingot into steel, billet or forging blank. Forging is the earliest BP600 steel plate material processing method. Forging is divided into free forging and model forging. Forging method can obtain the finished steel with better mechanical properties and shapes that are not easy or impossible to obtain BP600 steel plate material by rolling method.
